Re: Downton Abbey - the film.

I am amazed .
Being a homosexual is no longer a crime .

Do we want people to be hounded to death like Alan Turing ?

Who did absolutely no one any harm and saved thousands of lives .

I did point out Muddy that:- "I don't hate gays, and don't want to see them persecuted".. But just because it is legal doesn't make it right or morally accepted. Fiddling your tax can be done legally, but it doesn't make that acceptable either.

I have to agree. I'm not particularly religious but also wonder if there's a connection about the decrease in one and increase in the other. I also feel that there's a new coarseness regarding political issues that in the past were handled in a more respectful manner, even though the disagreements about issues was as strong then as today.
Absolutely Dave, people seem to be more angry and easily offended these days.

They can’t help the way they are born OGF and it’s been like that throughout history .
Is it right to make someone whose gay think he is wrong and immoral ?
They need to love someone the same as everyone else .
I don’t like Gay Pride and all that extreme stuff though .

You mentioned in an earlier post Muddy that "There has always been homosexuallity" And for thousands of years they have mingled alongside normal folk without too much friction. So what's changed in the last twenty years or so? Why has the equilibrium alted and they need to be recognised? So much so that it appears the minority get more recognition that they deserve. It would appear that someone is deliberately antagonising society and creating animosity that wasn't present before .....

I don't suppose anyone would dare complain about a queer King or Queen Muddy, and isn't there something in the bible about man laying on man is against God's will.....?
