Man and child almost swept into sea by wave

The man was knocked off his feet while carrying a child during stormy weather on the Isle of Wight.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-eng...child-into-sea (video)

The stupidity of some people …..

I hope his wife/partner has seen the video and suitably chastised the thoughtless man who endangered a child …..

Silly man risking his child's life like that

That could now make the child frightened of the sea for life

I'm a great Wave Watcher, and spend a lot of time enjoying them at this time of the year, but from a safe place, I'm not that daft. Was actually enjoying them on Saturday as the ocean was really building up a swell.

Stupid, stupid people. They are warned countless times, but still they do it & that isn't the first time & it wont be the last either. They are morons.

It seems some will do anything to do something dangerous and film it, so it goes viral.

Brains aren’t what they used to be! There’s more thicko’s and pig ignorant these days.

Re: Man and child almost swept into sea by wave

As an aside.Apparently the most dangerous sport in Australia is rock fishing (that is fishing from rocks not fishing for them), I vaguely remember reading that 80 or more fishers die each decade having been swept into the sea while rock fishing. Even in the finest weather the recommendation is never to turn your back on the ocean and wear a life jacket.
