The Budget brought forward

The Prime Minister has brought the budget forward to 3rd May by recalling Parliament to clear the decks for a double dissolution election on 2 July if the IR bills are not passed after two attempts.

Double dissolutions are a risky move and have only been called a few times because they can result in an electoral backlash.
