A very principled lady, a fierce defender of the NHS and not afraid to vote against the Government.
She has voted in the past for an EU Referendum and for a reduction in the EU Budget.
Her complaint is against the claim that the UK gives the EU £350 million a week and that if we left it could be spent on the NHS.
That claim is very justified.
O.K. so we get about half of our OWN money back to spend on stuff the EU will allow us to spend it on.
Even if that leaves £125 million a week we give, that is STILL a ruddy disgrace!
I wonder why she didn't take this step when this figure was first reported, after all its been bandied about for several weeks now?
Assuming the figure is a little suspect what does it say about her judgement going over to a group, who's whole modus operandi is to use suspect claims, to scare everyone into voting the way they want them to vote?
Mmmm surprised that someone would base their decision to go or stay on a dispute about set of figures on which there was never certainty in the first place.
We will hear all sorts by the government to help alter people's minds. Seems to me this is tactical. I bet pressure was put on her because the basis for her change of mind is just not rational.
I bet others will follow suit too and make headline news.
