Well done EU (again!) - Mastercard faces £14bn card fee claim
In 2014, the European Court of Justice ruled that regulators were right to condemn the cost of its interchange fees - the fees retailers pay banks to process card payments.
Mastercard lowered its fees but now faces a claim for damages for 16 years of charging from 1992 to 2008.
It has vowed to fight the action.

More work for the European Lawyers. I sometimes wonder if Europe is making a bid for policing the world and its affairs. They seem to be trying to extend their powers into every aspect of our lives. Sooner we're out the better.18-09-2016, 07:31 PM

It’s at a bit of a standstill at the moment, the Irish government want’s to appeal the EU’s ruling on the grounds that it has no right to interfere in our own tax laws, and that Apple understood our tax laws before they set up here so they (Apple) did nothing illegal. although they are not all agreed on this appeal thing in the government, it’s a very shaky government at present and could fall apart at any time, the whole thing will be tricky and take a lot of time to sort out in my opinion.
