Trump is an isolationist, he does not believe in Free Trade, he believes in protecting the American Economy, relocating business back to the USA.

If that improves the poorer USA residents lives I can't see a problem, countries have to do what's best for them, we are doing what's best for us with brexit.

How can you think opening the doors to the UK to those who would steal your wealth at the first opportunity be "good for Britain"?

Giving a man a coat is one thing... causing you to freeze to death is just stupid.

While being inside the EU which protects you is much the safer option.

I have said before...you try to do deals and "they" are more interested in themselves...every time. Including the EU. No one is terribly interested in making sure the UK survives comfortably unless it suits them.

People tend to forget that for years before the European Union this old country coped very well and will do so again. Edward Heath made a right bullsup putting us in and now we are coming out thank god.

The old country did not have to deal with Chinese trade, cheaper production overseas, instant financial effects of economic announcements, international mergers and acquisitions, change to oil prices out of the UK's control, the rise of the services industry and the decline in manufacturing which is now taken up by other countries, the need for immigration just to keep the UK's wheels oiled, the rise in consumer personal debt (credit card debt), the fluctuation in interest rates, the rise in other trading blocs which look after their own and which penalise those outside them, the loss of the coal industry which provided power from in-house so you don't have to import it, the loss of the auto industry, the loss of the steel industry (now in the hands of an Indian gentleman),

need I go on?? That world is gone. It was 50 years ago. I wouldn't mind going back to the 20's before 1929. That isn't going to happen either.

The mistake May has made is in not appointing Farage as Trade Liaison with Trump.

She may not like Farage, but he and Trump are good friends, it would have made things easier.

I'm sure Putin has got Trump figured out.
As Putin always does, he pretends to be 'pally' with a prominent public figure - in this case the future president of the biggest superpower in the world, lol - and then he will slowly but surely retract his friendship, but only after he's got free reign to build up his own nuclear arsenal behind the scenes. Watch this space.

Completely agree and while we can't go back too much damage has been done we can find a new way forward.
