Are you happy to use your first name on this forum?

I notice some people are using their real name as their username and are probably happy to sign off with it in a PM. Others are reluctant. Any reasons?

I used my real name as my user name at another forum and I would have used it here but there were two others with similar names so I thought it would be confusing if I used it here..

What is the point of creating user names if you are then going to use your real name in a post/thread? I do sometimes use my real name in PMs.

I sign off pms in real name,if I reply to a pm and they signed off in there real name

When replying to PMs i use my first name as its more personal.

It surprises me you say that doctor because you & I have exchanged a few PM's and you have never signed off with your name - not even your username.

Robert is my real name and I like it.

The problem is that although I never fail to introduce myself as Robert, most folks shorten it to Rob, Bob, Bobby, Nobby,
at their first opportunity.

Just for clarity, I use Rob or Bob for friends, Robert for close family.
BTW, I thought my name was SHADDUP until I went to school

I won't use my given name on any forum, including Facebook or Twitter, I have had problems in the past when I have been identified.
