Diane Abbott has served as Labour MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington since 1987. Recently in the June 2017 General Election, Diane received 42,265 votes, which equaled a 75.1% majority, retaining her seat.
She currently serves as the Shadow Home Secretary, a post she assumed in October 2016.
Diane Abbott was born in 1953. Ms Abbott was educated at the Harrow County Girls Grammar School then on to Newham College, Cambridge gaining a B.A and MA in History.
In 1987, Diane Abbott made history by becoming the first black woman ever elected to the British Parliament for the constituency of Hackney North and Stoke Newington.

The Shadow Home Secretary was discussing the horrific abuse she receives online following the announcement that she is the most trolled Member of Parliament

Diane explained: "When we say abuse, it's not people saying they disagree with you about nationalising the railways," she revealed. "It's people calling you a 'n***er bitch', threatening acid attacks, it's rape, death threats.
"It's upsetting for me and it's upsetting for my staff. It's frightening. It is undermining and humiliating."

Well the Labour Party obviously realised that there might be a problem with people, er, misunderstanding Dianne, so as a counterpart they have an MP of sparkling wit, boundless intelligence, and wide ranging, lucid conversation.
