Does anyone use a Mezzaluna

My herb chopping knife has been worn away by being repeatedly sharpened and I am thinking of getting Mezzaluna to chop herbs. I have a blender but that chops herbs to finely and makes a mush of them.

Does anyone use a Mezzaluna , does it do a good job and how do you keep it sharp.

Hi

Yes, I do.

It is a Thai version, steel as sharp as a razor 30 years on, I use a stone and oil to sharpen it.

It fits in a teak bowl, much kinder than stone.

That sounds good Swimmy .
I think one would have an advantages over a knife in getting my fingers out of the way when chopping small things like garlic and chillies that I usually hold. I am extra careful chopping because of anticoagulants.

I also use one, Meg, wouldn't be without it. Came from the Lakeland shop and, like Swimmys, it has a teak bowl. Have had it about three years now - in constant use - and have not had to sharpen it at all.
