David Davis Tweets

Top Tweets from the DD man

Nov 13

"This is the moment of truth. This is the fork in the road. Do we pursue a future as an independent nation or accept EU domination, imprisonment in the customs union and 2nd class status. Cabinet and all Conservative MPs should stand up, be counted and say no to this capitulation."

Nov 19

"This deal is not what the people voted for. It will tie us to the Customs Union for years to come with no way out. But there is still time to negotiate a Canada+++ deal that delivers on the referendum. So let’s get on with it."

Nov 28

"The Treasury’s forecasts in the past have almost never been right and have more often been dramatically wrong. Take their forecasts for the effects of a Leave vote made in May 2016.

They said that in the 18 months after the referendum the economy would contract by at best 0.1 per cent and at worst 2.1 per cent. Instead, it GREW by 2.8 per cent. This is an error of 4.9% - up to £100 billion "

"If Parliament rejects the Government's current proposal, then the Government can press for a Canada+++ free trade deal backed by technical solutions on the Irish border.

If intransigence from Brussels denies this, we should announce an exit on WTO terms and accelerate preparations for such an outcome. We should press for an exit on a Canada+++ free trade basis. If that is denied to us by Brussels intransigence, we'll have to leave on WTO terms.

At this point all the choking tentacles of the EU fall away. No customs union. No backstop. No single market. No denial of new trade deals. No money paid over. No threat to the integrity of the Union.

This proposal will keep Britain in orbit around the EU. We will be nothing more than a satellite state ruled from afar. It is our duty to reject that prospectus and genuinely take back control.

The task facing the Conservative Party, the governing party, is to deliver the will of the people as set out in June 2016. That means Brexit – and it means a clean Brexit that ensures a decisive break from the influence of a foreign power.

Dood I don't think he did actually. Word has it he arrived at the Chequers meeting with a white paper that took two years to prepare and Oliver Robbins (Mays personal Brexit advisor known as Rasputin by many PMs) tossed it out and submitted his own plan hence The Davis resignation.

If the Davis plan had been adopted we may not be in the situation we find ourselves in now.

Re: David Davis Tweets

The great problem is that every Brexit plan mooted has it's good bits and it's drawbacks. There is no perfect plan, and there is absolutely no concensus on any of them in parliament hence the predicament that the country finds itself in.

We have the opposition parties that will vote against absolutely anything other than what is on offer for purely political reasons, and a ruling party that cannot agree on any particular plan. Amongst all of the conflicting plans and opinions Mrs May had to choose one so she chose the middle way between the extremes, but whichever way she chose she would have fought a losing battle against the siren voices on either side.

What a poisoned chalice is Brexit, and why anyone actually wants the leadership at this time I've no idea, but hey ho such is the nature of politics these days, self always seems to come before anything else with today's politicians...

Teresa May didn't choose anything.

She simply had a deal dictated to her by HER EU MASTERS whom she is loyal to. That's the deal she is peddling. It is an EU deal, not a UK deal and it's a travesty that our government is so deeply infested with EU Common Purpose operatives.

Our government being thus infested will never deliver BrExit. They have no intention whatsoever of allowing the UK to escape the clutches of the EU dictatorship.
Neither has the opposition. Jezbollah Corbyn will continue to say and do anything to get votes to get in power but should he succeed, he will simply cow tow to the EU masters just like every PM before him going right back to Ted Heath who started the whole sorry affair.

BrExit is now becoming a complete side issue.

We now stand on the verge of national transition into a dictatorship. A democratic decision was made and the government have no intention of delivering it.

Hence much of the populous is now waking up to the horrific realisation that we have been sold down the river into a communist regime and that we may not have any real chance to escape it.

The issue now is one of the entire UK political system, the UK sovereignty and the long standing constitutional rights and freedoms which our forebears fought and died to preserve.

The referendum called the EU's bluff. It basically said:

"Democracy is an illusion, you are really a totalitarian dictatorship and we want no part of it. If what we say is false then simply let us out of the EU and show that democracy reigns. If what we say is correct you will force us to stay in the EU and thereby reveal to all that democracy does not exist"

So the powers that be are in a terrible quandary because their bluff has been called and their poker hands is "rags".

They now have to try and construct a way to keep the UK under EU control without the populous realising that this means there is no democracy.

That's why you have the endless TV and radio campaigns going on.

That's why every forum across the internet is now flooded with a massive and sudden influx of new members who are just EU stooges trying to condition people and change their hearts and minds to accept EU rule.

May is a traitor, but she is not alone.

Much of the government are equally traitors and every PM since Ted Heath has also played their part in fraudulently selling the UK down the river into the EU without ever giving the people a referendum on that life changing event and without fully disclosing what was going on.

There is only one way out at this point.

NO DEAL

That's because the EU is never going to table or agree any deal that doesn't leave them in control of the UK.

We've wasted 2 years because of our treasonous politicians.

They have to be booted out along with all the others.

We have to get out now with NO DEAL and take the pain to sort out the entire UK political system.

We can not continue to keep voting the EU PARTY into government (that being Lib/Lab/Con).

It all has to change.

The British Constitution must be restored and properly documented and made legal.

We have a long way to go and its going to get very ugly before it gets better.

We should all prepare for the ensuing chaos which will be necessary to tackle the sham UK political system.

Be prepared imo.

I'm sure you're right.

We never really know if these people jump or get pushed.
