I think it would be great if it was paid towards the NHS or even the emergency services where the massive lump sum could help employ more staff . I wouldn't miss it , I don't have any private pensions I manage ok so I'm happy to see it go towards services we use

Re: Christmas £10 bonus

Some pensioners do need it, I know one lady near us uses it to fuel her home for the extra gas she needs in the coldest month, she used to use it to buy her Christmas meal, but rent is so high now she can't afford that.

Anyone doesn't need it why not donate it to your local hospitals ? That way it goes straight to source without government taking anything out of it.

Re: Christmas £10 bonus

I used to work for a company who once gave me a £20 bonus for Christmas. Not wishing to spend it all at once, I took it back to work after the holiday to discuss with my colleagues. Apparently I was one of the lucky ones, some people only got £10.

Great idea .
I don't know what the administrative costs are for sending out all these £10 but perhaps instead pensioners could opt for it going to the NHS .

Just think what could be done with that huge sum of money for our emergency services . More staff , ambulances , police , firemen , it would so help those of us who need it .

Thanks for acknowledging my post muddy .
