The Most Caring Cat

Herman is a finalist at National Cat Awards Cats Protection annual celebration.

His owner lost both her parents from cardiac arrest, just a day apart. The shock hit her hard, and that's when she noticed the change in Herman, one of her seven cats. He sensed there was something wrong. He would follow her around room to room, nuzzle up to her if she awoke worrying.

Two others in the category are equally deserving. Sparky is my favourite.

Animals most certainly can be empaths. They’ve got that 6th sense and feel deeply.

Re: The Most Caring Cat

I have always had at least one cat over the last 45 years & have been surprised at how each has their own personality.

Once a cat has learned to trust you a relationship develops, just as it does with most dogs!
It has been proved that cats can help to reduce blood pressure, but I am sure they have other ways to comfort their owner too.

They know that their owner gives them food , warmth & shelter so perhaps their help, in bad times, is how they say "thank you".

Whoever said that had never met Nemo!!

I do agree that pets are very caring though and cats, in particular, are empathic. They like to appear aloof and independent - but they are really just big softies!

Re: The Most Caring Cat

I am going through a traumatic time in my life right now and it's amazing how my cats seem to know....I think you are right Bratti animals do seem to have a 6th sense.

Gorgeous cats in the article...it's a shame they can't all be winners

Don't be mean Tabby! We all know you need Nemo to remind you how to press buttons on technical equipment!
