The Carl Beech fiasco

How could the Police have got it so wrong ?
Why did they take the word of one man against the word of so many people of blameless character ?

What a waste of time and money .

One of the accused men's sons speaks out .

Re: The Carl Beech fiasco

Difficult situation.

It HAD to be taken seriously.

Plus with the truth having emerged in the past involving creatures like Cyril Smith there was more than enough smoke to justify a serious search for fire.

It's becoming evident that Beech was probably everything that is now being said about him.

Probably.

But when the antics of the likes of Vaz eventually sleaze out its not unreasonable to wonder who's next.

Re: The Carl Beech fiasco

Why is the word of one fantasist taken against the word of men who have had very public honourable careers?

We are not talking Cyril Smith here we are talking serving senior army officiers always in the public eye and there is nothing secret in the army where everyone lives in each other's pockets .
We are talking about Ted Heath an ex Pm who never went anywhere without a body guard .

Do this justify the police doing a full on raid on the homes of old men WITHOUT ONE SHRED OF EVIDENCE .

Not in my book

They are too quick as in the case of Cliff Richards to jump on the easy target evidence be damned !

It's a real quandary. One of the reasons to conduct raids is to obtain evidence. In any case if a full blown drains up had not taken place it would very soon have hit the political theatre of war see it would have been exploited to the full.

No accused person should EVER be named until absolute proof of guilt has been found and that person is charged. It is all too easy for women on the take for compensation or 15 minutes of fame, to accuse anyone in the public eye of such heinous crimes of rape and/or sexual. assault.

All of those accused by that disgusting creature were innocent, either deceased or in their late 80's/90's.One of them has since died before learning the truth. The others have spent years protesting their innocence.

It's a complete travesty.

Names withheld before being charged, fine without a court order instructing otherwise, but once charged, then no. Doing otherwise could very probably hold back other victims from coming forward as per "me too".

In this case there's an admittedly small number of names that certainly do have degrees of noteriety where sexual perversion are concerned, "Sailor Boy" Heath for one.

What notoriety ?
The man may have been strange and solitary barring his bodyguard have a sailboat and like playing the organ but that doesn't mean he was a peodophile .
He was not apparently a man who connected emotionally with anyone but his mother to whom he was devoted .
There was absoutely no evidence against Heath whatsoever for any sexual perversion at all.

I absolutely agree, but extensive investigation that took place where his activities while "cottaging" before being warned off by the police do hang in the air.

It happens because people are only too ready to believe the worst others and like Chinese whispers, what was originally said is lost in the constant repeating by the Media who put the Police under pressure to act immediately, without time for a proper investigation, in response to people like Tom Watson. For whatever personal reason Watson is the man who pushed this along with no supportive evidence whatsoever.
Also people tend to believe the rumours more readily about those they don't like, about who they don't agree with, those who are a different colour, creed or political view, those who are wealthy, or those were educated at Eton. you only have to look at lies spread about Brexit or Boris even.
