Boy, 6, 'thrown from 10th floor' of Tate Modern

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-47214207

A six-year-old boy was thrown five floors from the 10th floor of the Tate Modern art gallery in central London, police said.

He landed on a fifth floor roof and was taken to hospital by air ambulance following the incident at about 14:45 BST on Sunday.

The boy was said to be in a critical condition.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, the Met Police said.

They said the six-year-old was thrown from a viewing platform.

"There is nothing to suggest that [the arrested youth] is known to the victim," a Met Police spokesman said.

What the ....

I can't imagine what prompted that and I can't imagine what the six-year-old's parents are feeling .....

That's mental, what on earth would possess him to do that? That poor child, poor parents/family too. Horrifying

There's been an update to the article:

Admin worker Nancy Barnfield, 47, of Rochdale, was at the 10th floor viewing gallery with a friend and their children when her friend heard a "loud bang".

Ms Barnfield said she turned around and saw a woman screaming: "Where's my son, where's my son?"

Members of the public quickly gathered around a man who was nearby, she said.

Ms Barnfield said: "We did not notice the mum before, we noticed her after because she was hysterical by then."

Still odd. 'Where's my son?' sounds like someone who wasn't paying attention, not that you would expect him to be thrown over of course. Still, I suppose it's not for me to say as I wasn't there.

I hope the young boy survives and the teenager is dissolved in acid.

What a terrible thing to happen, I hope the young boy recovers from this.

Anyone who has a six year old boy will know they are quicksilver and are everywhere .Who expects their child to be thrown off a roof by a complete stranger in a art gallery ?
