This will surely stop people buying from them. Warranty and repairs will be at risk , like it was before.
I happen to have known a director of the previous Jessops before it went under, even before shop staff/press knew. The problems getting gear left in shops for repairs or repaired waiting for collection caused a hell of a lot of problems for the camera owners.
I like/liked Jessops. Their Oxford Street shop had a specialist from each camera brand in the shop - not all at once - so you had the opportunity to talk to someone who really knows.
Trouble is ... many people checked out gear in the shop, then bought online. I think the big department stores can live with that, but not a camera-only shop.
we are lucky we have Park Cameras not too far away which have an excellent photographic stock. They also run a" teach in" school events which no doubt helps them stay in business
