Brexit and Fishing

There's a very good article written by Alan Hastings (one of the founders of Fishing for Leave) today on Brexit Central.

It's an interesting read and we must make sure Boris Johnson delivers on his promises.

About time the fishing industry srarted pressing its case Bread?
That was one fine article and it sums up my and your views
completely!
If Boris does not stand up to euas he says he will, then we have not
actually had Brexit and we should all drown ourselves!
If we ever get this sorted the running of the fishing industry must
be removed from parliamentary control and let the industry run
itself within enviromental regulations?

Yep, I agree, DM.

Need to start putting the pressure on the government to make sure we take back full control over our fisheries and territorial waters. If there is a sniff of boris going back on his word then he will lose his support in a flash

Be careful what you wish for donks. If boris had gotten what he wished for he would have been found dead in a ditch.

And who do you propose who should make those environmental regulations? The EU? Green peace?

Boris' notoriety for not keeping his word works both ways. He may not keep to the political declaration he signed with the EU, but just as likely he will trade off fisheries for a trade deal.

Wishful thinking Solasch, it won't happen.

If he did, it would end his premiership in a flash. All those coastal towns that voted for him in the election would never put their trust in the tories again and sturgeon would be handed a stronger mandate for indy ref 2

Environmental regulations will be made by the UK government. And no regulatory alignment with the EU either

He wouldn't care. He is in the saddle for 5 years. By next election time there will be some other lie he can exploit.

Donkyman wants to take away fisheries from parliamentary control. That sort of clashes with them making regulations.

No it doesn't ... government makes regulations. Parliament votes on the Bill's put forward
