Still Using W7?

A Computer magazine, points out that there is now a petition going which demands that W7 goes "open source" such that it can be in free public use after MS have finished supporting it.

If that were to happen, I've got a spare computer to install it on. It would be an interesting project for the open source community to take on and interesting for us to see how it turns out.

Re: Still Using W7?

From the magazine, this week,(12-25 Feb) "More than 13,000 people have signed a petition to make windows 7 open source.

It was set up by the Free Software Foundation (FSF) which campaigns for programs to be made open source in order to provide "computer user freedom""

(Apologies to Computer Active magazine if this message breached their privacy terms & conditions.)

If Microsoft had any sense (which is doubtful) they would release an updated version of Win7 and keep everyone happy.
