Included in the flowers I sent Mrs LD on Valentine's day were Freesias. They look lovely and were described as fragrant, I suppose they are if you stick your nose right in front of them but I remember my Mum having Freesias in the house and the smell would fill the room. Can you still get the really fragrant ones?
Only if you grow certain varieties yourself, Longdogs. Mrs Vere stopped me from buying freesias (her favourite flowers) because those available had either no, or very little, scent at all as you found.

How strange, you would think the commercial growers wold want the fragrant ones, I'm sure they would sell more.. What a shame though, the smell used to be so nice.
