This former PM has clearly laid his cards on the table.

Shocking revelation from the quisling.

FORMER premier John Major has again vented his personal spleen by claiming this country is no longer a front-rank power in the world and never will be again.

Breaking WTO rules.

The EU’s new protectionist Data Governance Act, which was lleaked earlier this month, intends to force any new data sharing services or companies involved with “data altruism activities” to have physical offices in the EU in order to operate within the bloc, blocking out non-European based companies. Classic fortress Europe.

Yet under World Trade Organization rules, the EU has to allow foreign companies to access its data processing market from abroad. The WTO’s rules specifically prevent members, of which the EU is one, from forcing foreign businesses to establish in a jurisdiction in order to trade there. “Not even China goes that far. China discriminates on the basis of the licence alone”.

It was because of John Majors desire to join the ERM that destroyed our economy in the 90's.

John Major should be reminded of that every time he opens his gob.

Agreed and Major's gob is every bit as large as Blair's ego  Both need a ruddy good hand-bagging!

Spot on.

Quite apart from his Maastricht sneakiness, it is people like John Major that are responsible for the ongoing (but not so large as EUrophiles think) divide over Brexit in this country!

No wonder he is being absolutely slated in social media for his comments.
The old fool.

It might help if you read the articles and see how physical locations required within the EU to access EU data differs from the WTO rule that access must be granted from remote (i.e. other country) locations.
