Holding hands or Phones

A poll run by Nokia revealed Brits spend an average of 16 & half hours a week fiddling with their mobile phones. The 18-24 Yr old spend double that time though - 33 hrs a week.
Women spend more time on their phones than men.

By comparison, we only hold hands with a partner for just 30 mins a week!
Thats quite sad I thought.

I see two elderly couples walking past my house most days, all wrapped against for the cold, and both couples are always holding hands, I love to see older people like that.

Do you still hold hands when you walk with your partner?

Yes, we still hold hands. Thankfully we like each other more than our phones.

Re: Holding hands or Phones

My Lovely Cousin first took to holding my hand when she was twelve, and fifty five years later she is still doing it.

We still hold hands whenever we are together. Sitting side by side or out for a walk, we just naturally assume the position.

I think its lovely to see people out holding hands (especially older people). I haven't done it myself, though...Mr P is not a fan of these things, sadly!

Re: Holding hands or Phones

I would hold hands if I had a partner Mups does holding a dog lead count.

I don't have a smart phone so spend no time at all on my mobile phone except 2 mins once a day to text my sister in Derbyshire, I speak to the family by email

Re: Holding hands or Phones

I see many couples out ,who don’t hold hands, I don’t see that as sad....we are all different, just because some don’t hold hands ,doesn’t mean they don’t love each other, each to their own I say....

What ever happens naturally...is up to them......

Re: Holding hands or Phones

We haven't held hands since we were teenagers, we are not touchy feely people.

I have a mobile phone, which I take with me when I am driving in case there is a problem. Apart from that it is never switched on, I would dislike being in constant contact with people. At home I prefer to use our cordless landline phones of which we have four.
