EU negotiator suggests modifying NI protocol !!

Whatsisname, the EU negotiator, has suggested that instead of
tearing up the NI protocol completely it should be considered that
it only be modified slightly to accommodate any problems that
have been encountered in applying it in its current form ??
Is Frosties stone walling tactic paying off ??
