I think it's acceptable to take any of the complimentary 'single use' type consumables the hotel provides you with, as part of your room hire, such as toiletries, stationery, hospitality tray consumables, shoe shine cloths, sewing kits, slippers - they are provided for your use and hotel managers don't consider it as theft - they are happy for you to use them or take them to use later.Re: When You Stay In A Hotel, What Do You Keep?

Never taken anything at all. The toiletries are a no, no for me I always take my own, including shower cap. No use putting myself at risk of an eczema flare up. I also neither need nor want any of the other stuff. I prefer my own.Re: When You Stay In A Hotel, What Do You Keep?
Sorry. Inadvertently told a lie. 🙊 I did take a toothbrush from a hotel room in Dubia. It was one of those fold up ones, new of course in a cellophane packet. I used it on the flight from Dubia to Australia, I had forgotten to pack mine in my hand luggage.
