I was at home , saw it on TV, was very sad, it show'd the pictures of the shooting was scarey actualy for a child, i was 12/13 ,

That's easy Joe, It was Monday 15th February 1971 and I was working for Courtaulds. That particular day was the first seminar that I did in Kenilworth for Courtaulds Engineers and I used decimalisation as an example for those who still used imperial measures.

Feb 15/71. I actually remembered that because the tanner my Nan used to give me suddenly became 2 1/2 New Pence and I thought it was a gyp.

I was 14 months old when Kennedy was shot so I was probably sleeping in my crib or uttering nonsense to my Mum.
When I heard the news that Elvis had died I had just got off the train to go to school in Springs, South Africa and the local policewoman who was assigned to the pedestrian crossing for the students came running up to us, tears streaming from her eyes, saying: "Elvis is dead! Elvis is dead!".
I guess you could say she was a fan.
