Re: What are you having for lunch/dinner?

Tonight I had spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread, followed by a slice of Christmas cake (which was only started yesterday).

Re: What are you having for lunch/dinner?

On new years eve we had elk steak with traditional sauce, vegs & jam. Followed by a traditional dessert made from mountain cranberries.

Dinner on the first day of the new year is even more "local" - fish balls in a bechamel sauce spiced with curry. To go with it; just boiled potatoes and carrots/brussel sprouts fried in a wok & seasoned with soy sauce.
Hard to find a dessert to match this - so coffee & cakes have to do the trick...

I like the sound of that dinner, especially the fish balls with curry and the veggies in the wok!

Mine is ham and cabbage with black eyed peas. They're actually beans, and a symbol of good luck in the coming year; a tradition in the southern part of the country,

Five and a half hours in the oven - guess that's what you'd call real slow cooking?
I'm doing this tomorrow! Was it nice?

We've got a real rib-sticker. Neck of lamb with onion, pearl barley, carrot, potato - you can almost cut it in slices. Should keep the cold out
