The Quickstep was my favourite ballroom dance, but also I loved the Twist & the Jive.

Ah memories, the slow close up dancing was called “Lurching” over here, I'm reminded of many romantic times in the local dance hall.
After a few lurches with the same girl, the lad would get brave and ask the girl for a date, we were used to refusals so we always had a line ready, it usually went like this, Boy: "Are you doing anything tomorrow night?" Snooty girl: "Yes" Boy: "Well don't forget to pull the chain after you"
