I think you underestimate the Russians and Putin, he has bigger balls than Cameron who I think is a weakling compared to Putin.

Re: Cameron v Putin

I think Putin is a jerk. AND for sure he's just taunting Cameron because of the Syria thing and the no vote for participation. He's got some goal in mind....not sure what it is.

Re: Cameron v Putin

Looks like Putin is going to end up looking like the peacemaker now as he is proposing that Syria should give up the rest of it's chemical weapons, and if that were to happen it would surely negate the reason for any retaliatory attack by the West and would thereby allow Assad to carry on his internal civil war without hinderance..

That proposal was already brought up here in our Congress also. They were talking about giving him 45 days to turn it all in and if so then no attack. Also, they want Assad to sign the chemical weapon treaty that everyone else has signed. I hadn't heard that Putin was on board with this, but I think that's a good thing.

Re: Cameron v Putin

Reminds me of the comment our guide made on a recent trip to St Petersburg - she said in a thick Russian accent filled with scorn - once we had Rasputin, now we just have Putin!

Re: Cameron v Putin

Our Congress wants the UN to pass a resolution giving Syria as set time to turn over it's stockpile of poison gas and to sign the UN treaty against it's use OR.. it's back to the threat.. and probable use of force. True to form... even though Putin was FOR it... NOW he is blocking the UN resolution to force him to do this. Hard to know from one moment to the next what is happening. I've given up...
