A bit like a hot water bottle on a chilly evening, mug of hot chocolate, curled up on the sofa watching one of these variety shows. Great escapism from the terrible things going on in the world.

Absolutely, I was very down last week and the 'news' certainly contributed to that. Music is good therapy of course and some good TV so that we can end the night on a high note ........;.

Yes totally agree with you, music is wonderful therapy. Im looking forward to the Last Night of the Proms, it's a must view every year for me, something so intrinsicaly British.

It's so handy we can now record programmes, I tend to gather some from the week to watch Saturdays or Sundays neither of which offer me much in the "entertainment" stakes.

We need a buffer to take our minds off things going on at the moment, even for a little while. The news makes me very down too.

Eccles Thanks for the reminder but I have the full box set 5 years worth that I received for Christmas ......nothing comes close to S and S.
