Money? That's usually behind most things.
The bloke who flogged the tapes probably needed some dosh, like old Burrell did in the past.

Re: The Diana Tapes

Well I couldn't manage to watch the whole thing. Gave up after half an hour. A lot of hype but not much substance.

Same here. Anyway, I didn't want to miss the last episode of Poldark.

I had to stop watching that. I get so upset when something sad happens to the good guys.

But Burrell had the tapes for years and did nothing with them .
It was the police who raided his house and ended up giving the tapes back to the speech coach who sold them .

No, I didn't mean Burrell sold the tapes Muddy, I meant all the other times he has done interviews and writings claiming how close he was to her, and how he was her 'rock' etc.

Sorry, but I don't like him and have always thought him a snidey little weasel.

They're as bad as each other.
She was young and a dreamer. That's not a crime.
Didn't know he had a mistress til she more or less tripped over her.
Went to the Queen for help...Queenie said, " Oh Charles is hopeless".
Too bloody right.

Mad? Living with him would be enough to drive any woman mad.

If my husband insisted on keeping a mistress (it's his right doncha know?) I'd have string of lovers, the more the merrier!

P.S. didn't watch the programme, Poldark's better!

Didn't watch it, nor Poldark, stuck with the World Athletics Championship. My preferred viewing this week.

No they were not .
People generally love the people they marry they don't expect them to have mistresses at all much less drop them
She was a girl of nineteen in love with her husband a troubled girl deseparately unhappy I doubt if she treated her love affairs as 'a bit of fun' she no doubt loved those concerned as she was by everyone's accounts a very loving person.
People need to be loved be it by another person or sentient being .
Diana was betrayed by the very person who should have been her support and protector and had promised to be just that ,
And things have come to pass exactly as she predicted , she did die in an accident and Charles married Camilla .

But mups surely they must read and hear all the things we do , they can't bury their heads in the sand can they or ignore the programmes. I think when they were youngsters they would have been fed untruths but now they can surely think for themself's . They do seem forgiving of C and C and have embraced her into their life's , I don't think I could be that accepting or forgiving .

Diana was 19 years old , a naive girl very needy and she loved Charles , she was let down by the royal family
