Can you care too much?

My partner and I were having a chat and came to the conclusion I care too much.

Almost every nice experience I have in life makes me feel very lucky and also guilty that some people don't get many pleasures in life. I've had my own troubles to seek over the past 4 years, but now feel really blessed. I think it's an I'll divided world. I can't bear the thought that I might be enjoying a holiday, for example, and some people can't even get over their front door.

Do you care too much? I always feel other people's pain and can't change.

I think you can but to not care enough would be worse I think. Somewhere there must be a happy medium but I haven't found it yet.

As they say 'what can't be cured must be endured '.
We can't change the ills of the world though we can do our bit as when we are able .

The life we have is comparatively short and I think we should enjoy it when we can without guilt not just for own own sake but for those we love around us .

True but easier said than done for some people.

I've always been able to put meself in others shoes - I think the world would be a better place if others did
The problem for me is if I hear or see a tragedy it stays with me for a long time, I dislike not being able to help ........

If you are one of those sensitive people who care about other people, some of whom may be complete strangers, then you will be hurt so many times in your life. Unfortunately there just aren't enough people in this world like you. If there were, the world would be a better and safer place.

I'm with you on this one Meg. Worrying about something we can't cure won't help anyone. Some people will always have more than others, or less good fortune. We should each be happy for what we've got and help others in whatever way we can.

Yes Patsy I'm the same. My partner says it can be detrimental to me how much it all affects me. Oh well, we're all different.
