How proud am I?

Yesterday afternoon, my little grandson (just seven months old) swam 3m on his back, completely unaided - no support or flotation aids.

Me and my daughter are both bursting with pride!

Of course it helps having a mummy and granny who are both qualified Adult-and-Baby swimming teachers!

Alrighty little fella! Well done!
Just 7 months eh? I don't think I'd seen water outside of a bath when I was that old!

My daughter's a sports centre manager (on maternity leave now, of course!) and has been taking Oliver to the pool each week since he was five weeks old.

She's been told by the baby clinic nurses that his feet are the size of an 18-month old - so he's definitely going to be a swimmer!

it's in his blood: his mummy swam backstroke for the County, her brother competed at Midland district Championships (100m and 200m breastroke), and even granny (me!) earned her County colours at butterfly.

And his favourite places at home are the bath and his paddling pool!

All much to my son-in-law's dismay, as he's hoping Oliver will play footie for Arsenal. Doh.

Future medallist for sure!
And hey, it doesn't mean he can't dabble with a ball now and then with dad does it!

That's great Debs and quite an achievement . You must have high hopes for him.

My DIL took my grandchildren swimming at an early age but they are nowhere near that level.

It's amazing how babies can swim naturally underwater isn't it
This was Hannah when she was quite small.
