Oh drat!!

I've just taken my lovely white Egyptian cotton sheets out of the washing machine only to find them looking a bit grey. Then I saw the reason - 2 black socks that had been left behind from a previous wash!

Can anybody recommend a product to restore the whiteness please?

Didn't they used to use bleach for that?, probably banned now anyway.

No bleach will make them yellow, not good to use in the washing machine either as it will perish the rubber seal.

The original question if you don't dry them a soak in one of the vanish products may improve the colour, but if they are dry then the colour run remover may be only way to restore them.

Then dry them outside in the sunshine - works wonders.
