What is 'love'?

When you say you 'love' someone what do you mean by the term?

To me love is liking someone very much. I couldn't love someone I didn't like.

Well that's true !
Love is putting yourself 'second' - the person you love comes first ........

Re: What is 'love'?

There are many kinds of love - but if you're talking about true Love - you'd die for someone if need be.

So many different kinds of love, so hard to say unless you narrow the question down a bit.

I suppose you love different people for different reasons. That doesn't really explain what love means. It's a personal thing in my opinion. If I feel love for a certain person then that is 'LOVE'.

I don't think one should always put others first even if you are very fond of them. I have a relative who does that where their family is concerned and never does anything for themselves at all. I don't get the impression that it makes them content.

Putting another first doesn't mean you exclude yourself

I agree, and when I do put others first I get the love back ten fold too.

Re: What is 'love'?

Love means wanting the best for that person or animal or thing.
There can be differing degrees of the emotion behind it but you
still think I love that person no matter what even if they hurt
you.
I do not hate my enemies I just don't love them enough to do so
but I also don't think often of any enemies as it destroys you to hate.
