Very cool !

I inherited a batch of old watches when my mother died that she inherited from her adopted mother. I want to try to sell them as too dainty for me.

Re: My Watches

had to look that one up Dobra, interesting history. I gave up using a watch years ago mobile phones, pagers or Ipods took over my timekeeping duties.

Only decent watch i ever owned was a Rolex.

Re: My Watches

Thanks Nom. I was friendly with a horologist who had a watch and jewelry shop, aand he showed me the latest electronic humming watch. I bought it for about £35 new ad apart from a service a couple of years ago, keeps excellent time. Seen one for sale for £700+.

Re: My Watches

My favourite Omega automatic in 18C gold. Probably 1960's, it keeps time to a few seconds a day. Not bad for an antique - wonder how many quartz watches will still be going in 2065?

Re: My Watches

I bought my first watch whenI was 18, 63 years ago. In total I've had 3 watches and the third one has just given up the ghost. I have a new one winging it's way to me as I speak. I imagine this one will be the last.

Re: My Watches

Funny thing. Made me realise I haven't worn a watch for ages. Come to think of it I stopped when I couldn't read the time and needed glasses. Just never got around to wearing one since.

Re: My Watches

No watch for me any more...had one on a necklace that I liked but that was long ago. Use my cell phone when out.. or more likely the car clock. In the house there is one or more clocks in every room, even the bathroom has a small pendulem clock on the wall. Time is everywhere in this collector's house.
