V.E.70th Concert.

Watched the concert from Horse Guard's Parade last night.Enjoyed it.Jane Horrocks read a letter from a soldier who had written to his mother to be read if he died in the war.It was very moving and Jane just about held it together when she read it. Anyone else see it?

No, unfortunately. An allotment friend chose that time to ring me, for a 57 minute chat! Had it on but with the sound muted.

VE day - what a wonderful day that must have been but an emotional sad day for others - although I didn't experience it - the sad part takes over for me ..................

Yes we watched it all the entertainers did very well particularly liked Alfie Bow's contribution but have to admit I am a bit of a fan, also hasn't Alexander Armstrong got a great voice !

I watched it from about 9.20 pm and thoroughly enjoyed it and yes, it was rather moving.

So many tributes to that incredibly moving reading.

You can find it on IPlayer for the next month.
If you go to the VE celebrations it's number4 The Party and 1minute 30 seconds in is the letter home read by Jane Horrocks. Incredibly moving, worth looking at if you missed it, you'll never forget it.

Yes, I watched it and thought it was really good. I didn't expect to enjoy it, being a post-war child, but every act was excellent. I did feel for Jane Horrocks, and I had tears in my eyes at the same time as her. I'm so glad she didn't break down. It was impossible not to be moved.
