New Car

I think I may have found my new car
I'm going to have a look at it tomorrow or Wednesday, it all depends what they are going to offer me for my X-type in Part Ex

Re: New Car

I'll bet £1500-2000.
They'll put it into auction.
Possibly better selling privately.

Thought it was older. My mistake.
Unfortunately the dealers of high end cars hate part-ex.
So give a rock bottom figure.
For instance if yours is worth £7k they'll offer £4K.
They want you to refuse the offer.
People going into a Jag( or any luxury make)dealership want new or high end used of 4 years and under with warrantee.

This is my third Jag from this dealer my XType being bought there four years ago, I always drive a hard bargain, and will do so this time, if they want to keep my custom they will have to deal, if not I will just keep the XType .. It is in perfect condition, as I said and is good for another 100k !

Re: New Car

Good luck.
Hope it works out.

I had an X6 which was about 8 months old when I bought it, I had a bit of trouble with it, so after I had a small crash In it(remember that Fender?)
I decided to sell.
Part-ex was my first idea....BMW offered me £12k less than book price....Sold it privately for a very good(for me)price and went to Mercedes.

I will buy another BMW soon but I won't be giving a dealership my money.
Bastids.

Re: New Car

Hi

Luckily I have no interest in cars at all.

I limit my depreciation to £1500 a year.

I spend my money on holidays.
