Lucky yes, but looks like the tanker driver was at fault pulling into her lane and clipping her rear end?

That is what I thought Barry, but it also worried me that, now they are using the hard shoulders for driving, there is nowhere to pull in for an emergency like this.

Definitely.
Lucky she wasn't hit side on by the op's brother's truck or a car in the outside lane.
A split second later and all could have been different.

Thanks Susan.

That was strange. I can't quite see what happened there.

Lady driving in the inside lane when the tanker moved into her lane before she'd passed and side swiped her.

Obviously in his blind spot.

Do you think the truck driver actually hit her?

Well if he didn't she had nowhere to go to avoid him, that is what I meant about no hard shoulder!

Re: near miss taken by dash cam by my brother

I hate this idea of allowing the hard shoulder to be used as a lane leaving nowhere for emergencies.

It looks clear that the tanker clipped the car from the position it is in (wheels straddling the white line) at the end of the video.

Having driven the country since the age of 17 I will no longer drive on the motorways, I find it too stressful .
