Insect Bites

Should this be in health, or maybe Animals, or is it alright here?

Whilst gardening this afternoon, something got in my clothes and bit me to buggery. I never felt anything on my skin, but I have now got 8 very inflamed itchy bites that are driving me nuts.
Darn bites are on my legs, (inspite of wearing trousers), arms, tummy and even me bum!

I've sprayed them with Jungle Formula, used me ammonia 'dabber' pen, Aloe Vera gel, and taken some Piriton, and they are still non stop itching and red.

What do you put on bites to calm them down?

Re: Insect Bites

I got bit on my arm and back last year Mups ...

Mine itched like hell. Drove me wild.
Calamine lotion didn't make a scrap of difference.
Get some Hydrocortisone cream1% from your chemist, dab on thinly 3 times a day.
until then, for tonight .. go rifle in your freezer and find something damn cold to numb them. It worked a treat for me .. was bliss.
I had them hooked inside my sleeves and everywhere.

Re: Insect Bites

Oh 'ec .... sounds a nightmare Mups. On the rare occasion I've been bitten by something, I've used Sudocrem.

Slightly off topic, I got sunburnt on my arm and it itched and was raw so I mixed some porridge with water and dabbed it on. Left it for a bit and gently rinsed it off. Quite relieving.

I wonder if that might help?

Otherwise I can't come up with anything. Hope it eases or you'll not be sleeping much
