Prostitutes and Escorts

Ok...we might as well go deeper than one night stands.

Prostitutes are usually there for sexual desires. Escorts are usually there for entertainment purposes.
Maybe think of Julia Roberts and Richard Gere in Pretty Woman

I don't think it's shameful to pay for the services of escorts. They are there for many reasons and could be a good thing for people who are lonely or disabled.

However, street corner prostitutes, is another matter. Are they a good thing?

Pesta, Now you are being sexist! Why no mention of gigolos or male escorts?!!
Pretty Woman was a film and l think it would be very rare for that scenario to happen in real life.
Some prostitues should be pitied. Some may have been plied with drugs and raped at a young age and sell sex to fund their drug addiction. Some, may have been made homeless at a young age and turned to prostitution to survive?
Maybe, it might be a good thing if prostitution was legalised.

Isn't it legal in the UK? It has been legal in NSW for many decades, and more recently brothels are regulated by local councils.

Again just like the one night stands thread I have no problem with people using them as long as it's all consensual. I know it wouldn't be for me but I can see how helpful it may be to others.
