Why are people so frightened of spiders?

Why are some people scared of household spiders? However, you are likely to catch something very nasty from dogs and cats, especially if you let them invade your personal space, YUCK!

I am not really frightened of all spiders, just those huge house spiders & yes I know they are harmless & far more scared of me, but I can't help it, I would never kill one though.
I totally dislike False Widow spiders though, they are not native & they bite, I do kill those if they get into the house.

Spiders don't bother me at all! Now, mice, they terrify me! It's their horrid tails!

It's rats that have horrid bald tails, mice tails are fine.

'Cos spiders are scary nasty creatures with no reason to be indoors at all, run at strange angles and look at me with big scary eyes.

Dogs and cats are cuddly cute and gorgeous.

You should never kill a spider as it's bad luck! You are meant to pick them up and put them outside!
