Still Waiting.

It has now been over three weeks since I had a full body scan (with intravenous dye) as a cancer check, part of a series of tests. Try as I might I cannot get the scan result. My GP knows nothing, I rang the hospital consultant's secretary and she confirmed the results were back, but couldn't tell me what it is. She said that they would be writing me a letter!!

I feel this is really not good enough, I need to know and deal with whatever I am told, rather than three weeks in limbo.

Re: Still Waiting.

My doctor does not know and cannot access the hospital computer system. The scan was arranged by my surgeon as a follow up.

Re: Still Waiting.

Normally they are only in a hurry to let you know if there is an urgent problem, no news is usually good news...

Re: Still Waiting.

The waiting is the worst part, and really unacceptable, Cee Cee. I imagine it has been a very long weekend in that regard. I hope you find something out tomorrow.

I tend to hope and think that Barry is right on this one.

Good thoughts your way .

Re: Still Waiting.

D Day for me, or should I say "S Day"? Off for a sigmoidoscopy at 8.30, at a different hospital, so will pressurise them to look for my scan result on the computer. Keep your fingers crossed for me folks, so tired, no sleep last night....

I'm sure you'll be fine; anything nasty and they'd have likely got straight back to you. Good luck for today.
