Top five favourite films of all time!

Hard to choose when one has seen so many, but try!

Mine are not based on 'excellence' so much as enjoyment..or a bit of both.

1. The Graduate
2. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
3. A Man and a Woman (The French version, Un homme et une femme)
4. American Beauty
5. Easy Rider

This is a good question and real tough one to answer Kieth, and I've privately wondered many times what they would be, but here goes...although really in no particular order.

African Queen
Shenandoah
Dirty Harry
Casablanca
The Blues Brothers

Re: Top five favourite films of all time!

I love films and it's so hard to select favourites, I really enjoyed these.
The Lady Killers. (original version).
The Exorcist.
All the 'Dirty Harry' films.
The Quiet Man.
The Godfather. (the first one)
I don't watch romantic films, war films, and musicals.

Strange that three members have mentioned Easy Rider, I've tried to watch it several times and never once managed to finish it. Certainly proves the old adage, "One man's meat......

Re: Top five favourite films of all time!

For me Easy Rider was a fantasy of what I thought I would like to have been. I was 17 or so when it came out and I was all for the 'hippie' thing! It was of course all fantasy!
