When it comes to national interest it can't always be listened to, personally did I want the estate behind us built ? No but we needed more housing so up it went and I'm just happy I have a flat myself.

I don't really get how this will especially affect hard working families .... fracking has been on the cards for a long time now, and something tells me any government would pursue it as a form of energy.

I'm afraid that local democracy has to be trumped by national interest, regardless of who is in power otherwise we would have no new industry or progress of any kind, but like swimfeeders has just pointed out, had we been living in one of your utopian communist societies we wouldn't even have been allowed to complain.

Have to say that if the government ever told us the sky was blue ... UJ would probably come on here and tell us they were lying to us.

Hi

Nah Morty, UJ does like anything blue, a really "nasty" colour.

He wants everything to be Red.

Theresa May is all for Democracy, isn't she? She'll soon put a stop to this fracking as soon as someone tells her the locals don't want it. Won't she?

If a primary school can be completely self-sufficient in energy by using solar power, perhaps they can tell the government how to go about it. Ah but then, the sun is free to use. Nobody can make a profit out of it, once the infra-structure is installed. Fracking will continue to be useful as a source of profit even after the gas runs out, earthquakes, pollution, failures of services and deaths aside. And it will only happen in places of low income families anyway.

To power every home(not including business premises)the cost to supply just the panels would be around £160billion alone.

Then the land, about 750 km2

Put into context....jersey is 120km2
