For those worried about extra calories ... just don't eat them.

Tell you what Mort, If I leave a big container on the street corner, somewhere prominent, and anyone who is offended by the tallow can drop their fivers in there (using gloved hands or tongues of course).
I will empty the container out Christmas Eve, and send all the contaminated notes to the Donkey Sanctuary for Christmas - assuming that that wouldn't offend them of course.
I would be doing the previous fiver owners a good turn by taking their dirty money away, and helping the homeless donkeys at the sanctuary have a few extra Christmas treats at the same time. Win Win.

I only just noticed this thread I did not know about this. Will I avoid touching these notes of course not! Veganism is about doing all I can to avoid causing suffering to animals. It is not about avoiding £5 notes because they have a small amount of tallow in or on them. As for tallow in soap are you people not aware it is possible to buy soap made only from vegetable oils? When l am out and about l carry a hand sanitizer that is suitable for vegans. Being vegan is not about being 100% vegan its about doing as much as l can.
