I'm with you on that Meg, I like to know that the ingredients in the dishes I serve contain the freshest ingredients.
If I had to give an opinion on which country's food I love the most it would have to be Ireland with it's gorgeous meals.
I have many tried and tested dishes from this country and am hooked on them.
Falafel & Grilled Hallumi Plate - delicious.
I like it because its real food.
Although I must agree since the Tesco Horse Meat scare food from my own garden can't be beaten. Unless I'm visiting Italy.
Describing the plate from the well known cucumber going clockwise;
cucumber, below fallafel (made from crushed chickpeas, & spices & corriander), humous, olives, other marinated vegetables (would appreciate if anyone konws what these are dark red and green things) very tasty, then theres fried Halloumi Cheese. a chilli based zingy sauce, fresh tomatoe slices, marinated red cabbage , marinated white cabbage @ 10:00 on the plate. And a basket of flat pitta bread.
was fantastic. forgot to take a pic of desert. Tiramisu & ice creams (coffee & chocolate).
Oh And not a hint of meat on the plate. Just as filling..
btw tomorrow is shepherds pie - home made
