I've had a lot of panic attacks, mainly when I wake in the middle of the night with palpitations. But I am able to slow down my heartbeat by focusing on the facts. The facts being that it's just a panic attack. It was some advice on a panic attack forum that helped. You need to recognise that it's not real and slow down breathing.Re: Panic attacks

You are so right Annie, sharing and knowing that others know what I am talking about, and they feel like I feel, it makes us know we are not alone with this.
