Re: The job search begins here
Well I went to the meeting and the boss says he says he will look out for a suitable position but cannot change the way the company runs its shift system, which I understand completely.
What I did say was that I would consider a permanent 6am-2pm shift which would mean I could get a large proportion of my free time back, otherwise I would be happy (sort of) to be placed into an office environment – something I initially wasn’t keen on but it’s only for another five years anyway.
When I reach 60 I want to do something totally different as the final part of my career, whatever that may be. Anyway, I’m hopeful of a decent outcome and I told him that I really didn’t want to leave the company but my wife comes first and that I would regretfully have to look elsewhere for work. He didn’t want me to do that and said he would endeavour to ‘pull out some stops’ for me.
So it's being looked at and that can only be a good thing
