That is a lovely poem AB and thank goodness Eileen returned. I take it she's living in the conservatory? A big step, bless her.

That was sad, poor Eileen must have had a bad life before she found you, thankyou AB for giving her time to get used to you and all the different things. Annie.

AB have I missed something - massive birds

Sorry I don't have time to come on here during the week so maybe there's a thread I've missed.

Seems like she's back with you now albeit still cautious on going inside the house.

Sounds like she is getting more confident by the day Bob. Does she know to use a litter tray ?

Sorry Harvey, we had the Peacocks from the farm in our garden last Tuseday and Eileen did a fast exit left.

Re: The story of Eileen, in remembrance of a lost friend (latest update @post 49)

I am now at my happiest in life
After years in the wilderness
Food warmth and shelter
In my home thats made of Glass

When the sun shines though the windows
I feel as warm as a piece of toast
But the safety and security
Is what I treasure the most

I have ventured into that inner room
Found some metal thats nice and warm
I could sit and clean myself
Knowing I'd come to no harm

I have had my outer coat brushed
And the knots removed from my fur
I have had some special treats
Which shows they really care

They gave me some playthings
A mouse and ball of string
The mouse is not up to much
I prefer the real thing

I can sit inside with the lovely smells
When that oven is being used
Although people wander past me
I never feel confused

I have slept in the outer room
For hours and hours on end
Knowing I will be looked after
By those I see as friends

There is a lovey chair I use
When I want to sleep very sound
I snuggle up in the corner
And no-one knows I'm around

Yet there is something deep inside me
That returns me to my glass home
I do not know what it is
But it leaves me free to roam

My life has been turned upside down
It is much better than before
I now have a sense of purpose
And people I adore

They will be my new family
Sent from Cats heaven above.
One day I will move in with them
And share their place they love

That's beautiful, Bob. Eileen will be reading that I am sure.

Bless you for sharing.
