I would have thought that would have started in November at the latest.
If you suffer from S.A.D., then the “shortest day of the year” is something to look forward to because it means you’ve got through the darkest days and reached the “half way point” where the daylight hours stop getting shorter and you know that daylight hours after that will be getting longer.
You may not feel the physical benefit for ages but reaching that halfway point gives you a psychological boost - it’s the point where things can only get better as we move towards Spring.
You can start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
