Age Gap

Age Gap

My Daughter at age twentythree
Was then far more grown up than me
And at her age of fortyfour
She thought I have regressed some more
Because I'd then buy cuddly toys
And childrens' films plus other joys

Then I went and discovered the internet
The 21st Century I had met.

She thought I'd never reach the stage
Of copy, paste and post on page
Or type a message, send a link
She thought me far too old I think.
She says I'm mad to spend my day
On FB chatting away
To people I don't even know
May never meet, but even so
I now spend hours on my P.C.
On forums that I've joined for free
Discovered, I have, a whole new World
The cyberspace, is now unfurled.

I wrote this a while ago, my Daughter is now 49, but she still thinks I haven't grown up.
Anyone else have kids like that?

My wife had had a couple of crap relationships before she met me, I was 33 and she was 41. I took her away for a weekend and she told me about the things she'd missed out on,her kids had grown up, only the youngest daughter 17, still lived at home. she had told me about some of the stuff she'd missed out on over drinks in a pub, on the way back to the hotel we passed this shop, so I took her in, just for laughs I bought her some boots, leather jeans and a leather jacket. We went out that night, she borrowed a white T-shirt off me to wear with her new outfit, she loved it. The holiday ended and we went home, I dropped her off at her house, still wearing the leather gear, and she invited me in for a drink. we went in and she realised her daughter was in and felt nervous, was she too old for leather?
Her daughter walked into the room, "wow mum, love the rock chick look", she told her, and that was that, she's been to concerts, and done all kinds, although the funniest thing was a few years later, we'd gone on holiday and took her daughter with us, we were in this pub and my missus leaned over and kissed me, "uggh mum, that's terrible" moaned her daughter. lol
