I do not want my kids to have less of a chance.

My two think I am mad about Brexit, so what?

They also think that I am stupid in leaving my money to them.

It is a Dad thing.

I want them to have such a good life as I had.

Nothing wrong with that at all.
So you keep telling us, Swimmy, and good for you - but it has nothing whatever to do with C19 and/or mobile 'phones.

It wouldn't tell you who you should be isolating from because it would be telling you you should self-isolate for 7 days (or get tested and act according to result)

I didn't think it was so comlicated!

Re: Contact Tracing on smartphones

I bought a smartphone (PAYG) a couple of months ago so that I could map my cycle rides and walks. I don't do either of those now, so it was somewhat a waste of money.

Our daughter has persuaded me to use the video function so that we can see and talk to her. I used Skype on the Desktop computer for this in the past but with the phone, she can show me around where she lives and I can take her for a tour of the garden.

I'm getting the same thing from my daughter TessA.... She goes a bit over the top at times.....however.....
"Futurama".....Perhaps.....But If I'd told you last year that there was this deadly virus circulating the whole world and killing people (mainly oldies) and we had all been confined to our houses, and the country had virtually come to a standstill, loads of businesses closed with some gone to the wall, not just here but in the rest of the world, and we all must go outside on a Thursday night, Clap and thank God for the NHS. We all had to buy a smartphone so that the establishment could track you and knew where you were at all times, and it might be next year before we can go on our holidays to the nearest bit of beach...And to top it all, I can't even get a McDonalds; I think you would have thought I was a crank.... Not that I aren't....

Hi

It is far simpler than that Rhian.

No names, they are only known to the authorities.

It is simply an App which relies on your location.

Two simple messages.

You are fine, you are not in Social Distancing of anyone who may be affected

You are not fine, you are in social distancing of someone who poses a risk.

We have two options, accept it and be safe, do not and take the risk

I know far more about surveillance than many

I am an expert in avoiding it.

Times have changed, I have my tracker on and sending info to the Government.

This is my job as a Dad, I need to protect Guy

When this is all over, this will not apply, I value my privacy.

I will return to no tracker and travelling in Dead Spaces and using cash.

At the moment this is not an option.

Protection of my family is far more important than my privacy.

I lead a very boring life now.

Lidl, Morrisons and Rowlands Chemist. with some Hospital Visits.

I will survive and will meet new people when this is all over.

Life goes on.

I am positive about this.

Re: Contact Tracing on smartphones

Surely, anyone who already has, had, the virus might, very rapidly, realise that his (or her) mobile phone is telling everyone nearby that he /she is infected?

That would mean that passers by would shout & point at him, everywhere he goes.

Luckily, he/she will still be able to go to a party, walk round public areas, etc., etc., as long as they keep their mobile switched off..

We are so lucky that we don't have people who would think like that........!

Hi

ST

We do not need to know who it is, just that we need to be careful.

We need to get our economy back working.

If you are not infectious, get back to work.

I heard somebody, who is an authority on viruses, saying that they do not yet have any idea whether those, who have been infected, will be immune to catching it again.
If the story about China, making this virus so it can be caught by humans, is correct I suspect it will need a lot of testing to check whether we can develop an immunity to it by using anti toxins that are created by our white blood cells.
